THE PC GREEN INITIATIVE

From our founding in December 2002, PERFORMANCE CHEMICALS, LLC has been committed to bringing Green Chemistries to our customers. Our goal is to eliminate materials that are listed under the definition of the REACH regulations EC1907/2006 with the 191 Substances of Very High Concern (SVCH June 27th, 2018), and with RoHS 3, or Directive 2015/863, which adds 4 phthalates to RoHS 2 Directive 2011/65/EU, to ensure a safer future world from the products produced with our materials. We focus on minimizing VOC’s and being California Prop. 65 compliant, removing APE and APEO materials from feedstocks, and to have no PFOA or PFOS in any of our chemistries.

As we continually strive to improve our impact on the environment over the years our company has converted all our lighting to LED low energy bulbs and fixtures. Throughout the manufacturing plant we have added energy efficient spray foam greatly reducing the energy and heat loss, and further utilized energy efficient radiant natural gas fired heaters. Our corporate offices have been up-fitted with energy efficient heat pumps, running on electricity, natural gas and renewable wood pellet fuels.

From a water perspective we consistently work to eliminate waste going to the sewer system, by our batch process to be manufactured in dedicated equipment which eliminates water wasteful washouts. Our process cleaning is done with energy and water efficient CIP systems to ensure the utmost reduction of waste coupled with detergents that are environmentally friendly.
